Fall Fest

The 2021 Annual Second Mile Fall Festival was a great success! In addition to store sales, we sold bakery items, and raffled off 22 gift baskets! The Fall Festival raised much needed funds for our Food Pantry, which will be serving even more people in our community during the holidays!

Thanksgiving and Christmas

Justin Woost (Pantry Manager) and Kaitlin Barick (SMO Executive Director) distributed an abundance of Christmas gifts, to meet the wish lists of children and veteran's families in our community.
Thank you for helping us serve 346 Thanksgiving meals, which included serving 43 veterans!

In particular, thank you to Middleburg Heights Community UCC and Southwest General Health Center for their food donations, which included 450 turkeys!

Teeter Totter Marathon (TTM)
: On Sunday, May 2, during Zoom worship, the youth & membership at Middleburg Hts. Community United Church of Christ presented a check for $15,653 to Ann Over (CSM/SMO President) and Kaitlin Barick (CSM/SMO Executive Director). Kaitlin provided a thank you speech explaining the importance of this donation. THANK-YOU to the youth, leadership, and congregation for their creativity to enable this two-day teeter totter
marathon to continue safely during this pandemic. This donation to CSM/SMO will keep our food pantry going, equivalent to serving several meals for approximately 2,000 people. See MHCUCC for more about this church and their social justice ministries.
